Description
The Tate Modern Gallery is house in the former Bankside Power Station this was an oil-fired power station, located on the south bank of the River Thames, in the Bankside district of London. It was active from 1952 to 1981 and was converted to a gallery between 194 and 2000. The photograph shows the large brick tower which was formerly the buildings single chimney.
